On the night of July 23, 2019, a fire occurred in a tent camp at the Holdomi recreation center in the Solnechny Municipal District in the Khabarovsk Territory. 20 tents out of 26 were burnt down. There were 189 children in the tent camp. According to the latest data, four children died. Another eight people were injured, three of them children. They receive medical care.
In the hospital where the victims were hospitalized, the priest Yaroslav Savitsky stayed all day. He provided spiritual support to parents of affected children. “I arrived at the hospital as soon as I learned about the tragedy. The department had parents and close relatives of the children. They were in dire condition, but we talked a little bit. Together with some of the relatives of the children in the prayer room, we served a prayer for health, I gave them the icons that I brought with me, and they stood with them in their hands, ”said Priest Yaroslav Savitsky. - After we left the hospital, our older sister called us and said that one of the girls had died. While we were returning to somehow support the people we already knew, the fourth child, a boy, died in the hospital. It is difficult to describe how terrible their parents were. ”
According to the priest, tomorrow, July 24, the priests of the Solar Deanery of the Amur Diocese will perform a memorial service for the dead children at the site of the tragedy. Since July 24, the region declared mourning for the dead, which will last three days.
With the blessing of the Bishop of Amur and Chegdomynsky Nicholas, in the temples of the Amur diocese they pray for the repose of those who died in the fire.
