Reference: From 27 to 31 May 2019, the third meeting of the Commission on the dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Coptic Church was held in Cairo. The delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate was headed by Bishop Gennady Kaskelensky, the Coptic Church - Metropolitan of Los Angeles Serapion. The agreement on the establishment of the Commission was reached by His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and His Holiness Patriarch Tavadros II during the visit of the Primate of the Coptic Church to Russia. The commission outlined the prospects for further cooperation in the academic, youth and media fields, in the field of church social service, as well as the development of contacts between representatives of monasticism and the development of pilgrimage programs. The delegation of the Coptic Church praised the activities undertaken by the Russian Orthodox Church in helping the suffering Christians of the Middle East, and expressed deep concern about the alarming development of the church situation in Ukraine.
